Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders...

“Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.” John 4:48

Due to the last several months' experiences, I have been striving to see in the Scriptures God's goodness and love toward me. It seems that all my life I have, at least subconsciously, felt He is mad at me. However, after reading the book I described in this post, I have been forced to reconsider.

Consider, for a moment, the passage above. I have always thought Jesus was rebuking us for not believing in Him unless they saw miracles. Kind of like, "Why do I have to do these miracles for you to believe? You should believe without them!" Now, I wonder if what He was saying was something else.

Maybe Jesus performed those miracles because, out of His love, He knew that people would never believe unless they saw signs and wonders. It wasn't a rebuke, but a gentle statement in love of fact. He was saying, instead, "If I do not perform signs and wonders, you will be lost. How could I let that happen? Out of my love, my desire to have you as my own, I will perform them so you will know I am the Messiah."

He didn't come into the world to judge, but to save. May I see the miraculous signs and wonders in my life so I will believe! He wants to demonstrate Himself to me!

Where are the photos this month? Well, you'll have to wait until NEXT month! All my daughters are in Mobile, along with their cameras. But we have trips to China, kids at camp, and Mobile all sitting out there on their cameras. I know, I know, you want them now..... You just can't wait to see them. Yet, you'll have to wait and tune in next month for a double header of pictures!
